El Dorado, Kan. - Brian Morrow, a 1989 graduate of El Dorado High School, is being honored with a banner to be displayed in the high school commons.

Morrow was named the 1989 Gatorade Circle of Champions Kansas Player of the Year.

This award is administered by Scholastic Coach magazine and honors the top state high school athletes for athletic and academic excellence. It is perceived as an accurate measure of talent and character.

"I was please to find out that Brian had won the Player of the Year award. However, I was disappointed for him that he was not properly recognized, in my opinion, at the time of his graduation," said El Dorado High School Athletic Director Scott Ennis. "Brian was a fine baseball player at El Dorado High School and in college. Most importantly, to me, Brian is an excellent parent and community member."
